AMMAN — Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MODEE) on Wednesday signed an agreement with Leaders International, an NGO for economic development, to support Jordanian start-ups and entrepreneurs in the field of IT.
According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, this new project is part of the "Youth, Tech, and Jobs" project which promotes lucrative opportunities in Jordan's digital sector while expanding governmental digital services funded by the World Bank and UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
This agreement is a first for cooperation with a mediator to support 40 Jordanian IT start-ups by providing investment, networking and mediation opportunities with Europe, US and Saudi markets
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh stressed the importance of supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups by implementing initiatives and programmes that help them network with local, regional and international investors.
Hamzeh Shamaileh, country manager at Leaders International, explained that start-ups usually face challenges due to limited resources and a lack of proper guidance.
He said that Leaders International is embarking on a journey with MODEE to empower entrepreneurs and IT start-ups, opening doors to international markets and promoting innovation and economic growth in Jordan.
