AMMAN — Al Hussein bin Talal Library at the Yarmouk University and the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) – Jordan on Wednesday organised a panel discussion on HH Princess Dana Firas' book “Unique and Outstanding”, which highlights 20 heritage sites in Jordan.
Princess Dana, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage and president of the ICOMOS Jordan, said that heritage, with all its components, is a set of human values that form the identity related to belonging and the individuals' connection to their roots of their homeland, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The princess said that heritage is directly associated with growth, employment, realising sustainable development, encouraging innovation and creativity, and conveying hope and solidarity, which requires building policies and systems needed to realise this.
