Deputy speaker, Azeri ambassador discuss efforts to halt war on Gaza

AMMAN — First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House Abdulrahim Maaya on Tuesday called for an immediate and urgent action for the adoption of a stance in support of the Palestinian right and halt Isreal’s heinous attacks on Gaza. 

Receiving Azeri Ambassador Eldar Salimov, Maaya stressed the importance of His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to mobilise international support to halt the war on Gaza, protect civilians and ensure the delivery of assistance to the Gaza Strip, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Maaya and Salimov stressed the importance of supporting His Majesty's positions and efforts to stop the aggression on Palestinians, highlighting the need to respect international law and international humanitarian law in protecting civilians.

 They stressed the need to strengthen bilateral parliamentary relations and coordinate efforts in the service of the best interests of the two countries.
