Deputising for King, Khalaileh attends Hijri New Year celebration

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh on Tuesday attended the religious celebration held by the ministry commemorating the Hijri New Year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the celebration, Khalaileh said that the Hijrah was a turning point in the history of Islam, empowering Muslims to establish a solid society and "gain strength after weakness".

Grand Mufti Abdulkarim Khasawneh said that the Hijrah is a unique historical event with various divine miracles that protected Prophet Mahammad.
