AMMAN — Authorities on Saturday said they were still investigating the death of a man on Thursday following a brawl between members from the same family in downtown Amman.
The victim was reportedly stabbed and killed downtown following a brawl between cousins on Thursday, Public Security Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi told The Jordan Times on Thursday.
“Police are still questioning suspects and witnesses who were present in the area,” a senior judicial source said Saturday.
The source added that initial questioning of witnesses indicated that the brawl started over merchandise stalls.
“It seems the fight started between the victim who was a street vendor and other individuals on where to place their merchandise stalls, which initiated a fight that turned deadly,” the source added.
Sartawi told The Jordan Times that investigations are ongoing and that “people responsible for this murder will be apprehended soon”.
