Dead Sea to host UNESCO Int’l Conference in October

AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul on Saturday underlined Jordan's role as the host of the upcoming UNESCO International Conference titled "Global Media and Information Literacy Week and Youth Agenda". 

The event, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah, is a platform to showcase Jordan's expertise in media education and information literacy. 

During a meeting with editors-in-chief of daily newspapers and directors of official media outlets, Shboul, who is also the government's spokesperson, said that the conference will be held between October 23 and 25 at the Dead Sea region. 

The event will bring together 300 international experts alongside 500 local counterparts in the fields of media and information literacy. 

The conference will also reach one thousand participants via teleconference, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
