Customs Department foils cigarette smuggling attempt

AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) on Sunday said that it had foiled an attempt to smuggle cigarettes at the Jaber border crossing, in cooperation with security bodies at the checkpoint.

The cigarettes, totalling 10,000 packets, were seized and the case was referred to the Customs Attorney General for legal action, according to a Customs Department statement.

Customs Department calls on all citizens to report any contraband through the anti-smuggling hotline numbers: 0780323297/0780323298.
