AMMAN — The Culture Ministry on Thursday approved a number of projects related to Mafraq as the 2017 “City of Culture”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The 22 projects, which qualified among 1150, include plays, folkloric performances, art exhibitions and seminars.
The ministry also approved 31 other projects to be implemented in various regions of Mafraq, 80km northeast of Amman.
The official inauguration ceremony of Mafraq as Jordan’s 2017 City of Culture will take place on April 13th at Al al-Bayt University.
