AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein, accompanied by HRH Princess Rajwa, visited on Monday Replit, an AI software creation company in Silicon Valley, California.

During a conversation with Replit’s founder and CEO, Jordanian entrepreneur Amjad Masad, the Crown Prince expressed his pride in Jordanian talent, which has proven capable of competing at the global level, noting the importance of harnessing drive and determination to capitalise on available opportunities and tools to maximise impact, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Royal Highness praised the productive collaboration between the National Council for Future Technology and Replit, a cloud-based software development platform and AI-powered coding assistant, which has resulted in the launch of the ‘Siraj’ project, an AI-powered Arabic-language learning assistant serving 1.3 million users across some 5,800 schools.

Discussions also covered the potential of expanding cooperation on AI initiatives in the fields of education and skills development, as well as hosting programming competitions to drive innovation and accelerate development in priority sectors in Jordan, such as water and energy.

Founded in 2016, Replit has a $9 billion market valuation, and specialises in AI-powered "vibe coding," allowing users to build and deploy web and mobile applications through natural language prompts rather than traditional coding.

Their Royal Highnesses toured Replit headquarters, and were briefed about its Replit Collaboration workspace which supports synchronous, real-time team programming. The company currently has more than 50 million registered users and over 150,000 subscribers; its technologies have contributed to the creation of more than two million applications.

Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain accompanied Their Royal Highnesses on the visit.
