AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein held a video call with members of the national football team (the Nashama) on Sunday, ahead of their anticipated World Cup match against Algeria.
During the call, the Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah’s support for the national team, reaffirming his confidence in the players’ ability to shoulder their responsibility and represent Jordan in the best possible manner, the Jordan news agency, Petra.
The Crown Prince praised the team’s strong performance and fighting spirit in their opening match, saying the players had given Jordanians a sense of pride through their level of performance, discipline, and high morale.
He urged the players to continue their World Cup campaign with the same determination and spirit, stressing the importance of teamwork, learning from mistakes, and working to address them.
The Crown Prince also highlighted the key role of the coaching staff and technical team in guiding the national squad during the upcoming stage, while emphasizing that all players should take pride in their contribution to Jordan’s participation in the tournament.
The Nashama captain Ihsan Haddad said the players’ morale remains high and that they are fully aware of the responsibility placed on their shoulders.
He added that the team will give its utmost effort in the match against Algeria to secure a result that meets the aspirations of Jordanian fans, brings them joy, and allows the team to continue representing the country in the best possible way.
Jordan will face Algeria in a Group J encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Both sides enter the match seeking their first points of the tournament after opening losses.
