Crisis cell director highlights army’s continual implementation of curfew order

AMMAN — Brig. Gen. Mazen Faraiah, director of operations at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management’s crisis cell, on Monday said that the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the authorities are continuing to implement Defence Order No.3 for 2020, which imposes a curfew while allowing citizens to go out to obtain only basic necessities for daily life.

During a press briefing held at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, Faraiah said that the Civil Defence Department (CDD) dealt with 7,605 medical cases over the past 24 hours, noting that the department’s staff conducted sanitisation operations in government institutions, hotels and residential buildings, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The department also set up 110 mobile clinics in cooperation with the Jordan Medical Association and the Jordan Paramedic Society, distributed all over the Kingdom, he said, noting that 25 of them are in Irbid.

Faraiah reiterated that Irbid was isolated for the protection of its citizens and that the government is committed to securing the governorate and its districts with basic commodities.
