CPI increases by 4.02% during Q3 of 2022 — DoS

AMMAN — The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, went up by 4.02 per cent by the end of third quarter of 2022, reaching 106.33 points compared with 102.22 points in the same period of 2021.
According to a monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) on Wednesday, the main aspects of the CPI increase were fuel and electricity at 22.37 per cent, transport at 5.93 per cent, rent at 1.91 per cent, vegetables and pulses at 8.35 per cent and culture and entertainment with 8.84 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In September, the report showed an increase in inflation of 5.39 per cent to 108.41 points, compared with 102.86 points during the same month of 2021. Figures showed that fuel and electricity were the main contributors to the monthly increase at 33.30 per cent, followed by culture and entertainment at 14.39 per cent, health at 7 per cent, transportation at 6.90 per cent, and rents at 4.48 per cent.
