AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), in cooperation with Roya Academy for Media Training (RAMT) and the Community Police, on Saturday launched the first session of the “Watheq” (document) programme, which aims to train young people on basic media skills.
The training sessions, which will implemented in all governorates, include training participants on several media issues, such as the differences among social media platforms, media principles and concepts, communication skills, main values in modern media, basics of dialogue and acceptance, respect and pluralism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
CPF CEO Tamam Mango said that the idea of implementing media training sessions nationwide was a result of the prevalence of social media among all components of the society, adding that the training will enable youth to fully utilise these platforms.
Mango commended the cooperation of the Community Police and RAMT in executing the programme.
The Community Police will present logistical support through hosting, sending invitations to local community members and launching promotional campaigns.
RAMT will provide trainers and experts, as well as showcase practical samples of news items and offer means of analysis and editing.
More than 120 young people attended the first session in Amman, while the sessions of other governorates will be announced on the CPF and Community Police’s social media outlets.
