COVID vaccine not mandatory to enter Aqaba — ASEZA

By JT - Jul 12,2021 - Last updated at Jul 12,2021

AMMAN — Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Sharhabeel Madi on Sunday said that not receiving COVID-19 vaccines does not mean inability to entry the city.

Madi noted that every visitor can undergo a rapid test within three minutes and then they can enter the port city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. He added that the aim of this procedure is to preserve Aqaba as an economic and tourist city. Aqaba has so far registered the highest vaccination rate in the Kingdom and does not have a partial curfew, he said.

The commissioner noted that ASEZA, in cooperation with the Health Ministry, has provided free vaccines to all arrivals to the city and visitors can get inoculated at the Mizfer and Wadi Arabah border crossings.
