Conference for youth, women and people with special needs kicks off

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Wednesday attended the launch of the National Conference for the Empowerment of Youth, Women and People with Special Needs, which was organised by the MENA Centre for Research, Development and Training (MENA-RDI), in cooperation with the All Jordan Youth Commission.
Fayez said that His Majesty King Abdullah attaches importance to youth empowerment, noting that implementing the Royal directives in this arena require equipping young people with skills, building youth leadership capable of bringing change, support their initiatives and easing all obstacles hindering their active participation.
Head of the Senate's Labour and Social Development Committee, Senator Issa Murad, reviewed the chamber's efforts to support young people and people with special challenges, notably over labour-related legislation.
In its first session, the conference addressed several topics, including the initiatives of the Ministry of Youth and its role in empowering young people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
