AMMAN — The number of companies registered in the Kingdom during the first half of 2026 increased by 7 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to a report issued by the Companies Control Department (CCD).
The CCD report showed that 3,753 companies were registered during the first half of this year, compared with 3,493 during the corresponding period in 2025, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Total registered capital exceeded JD148 million, the report said, noting that limited liability companies were the most registered in terms of volume, with 2,864 companies accounting for 76.3 per cent of total registered entities, with a capital exceeding JD46 million.
Private shareholding companies followed, with a registered capital exceeding JD69 million.
The report also highlighted a 16 per cent drop in the number of dissolved or deregistered companies compared with the same period last year, standing at 473 companies compared with 562.
The net capital change also saw a 5 per cent increase compared with 2025.
For the second consecutive year, the CCD maintained results exceeding the JD1 billion mark in capital, generated either through new registrations or corporate capital increases.
The report revealed that 39,766 companies have been registered electronically since the launch of the department’s e-services at the end of 2020.
Additionally, the number of electronic follow-up requests reached 2,629,248, while 101,129 archived copies and 567,111 certificates were issued digitally, the report added.
