AMMAN — Most parts of the Kingdom will remain under the grip of a cold air mass on Tuesday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Temperatures in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba will be fair, with low-altitude clouds, the JMD said in a statement made available to The Jordan Times on Monday.

On Wednesday, temperatures in Amman will range between a high of 13°C and a low of 4°C, while on Thursday, temperatures will hover around 12°C during the day, dropping to 4°C at night, according to the weather department.

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), declared a state of moderate alert, urging the public to contact the GAM helpline in case of an emergency at 102 or 117180.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) urged the public to check weather forecasts and road conditions amid the prevailing weather conditions, and turn to the Amen 911 application for receiving security alerts and contacting emergency responders.

The PSD also emphasised the need to exercise extreme caution while driving in Maan’s Ras Al Naqab area, which witnessed snowfall on Monday.
