Civil Defence teams dealt with 6,132 incidents during Eid Al Adha holiday

AMMAN — Civil Defence Department (CDD) cadres dealt with a total of 6,132 incidents across the Kingdom during the Eid Al Adha holiday.  

The CDD, in a statement shared with The Jordan Times on Tuesday, said that its personnel had dealt with 795 firefighting and 460 rescue incidents.

CDD teams administrated first aid to the injured and took them to hospitals, according to the statement.  

The teams also sterilised a total of 1,553 vehicles and establishments across the Kingdom, a CDD spokesperson said in the statement, commending the CDD personnel’s efforts and swift response.

Meanwhile, an Arab national was shot dead on Saturday in the capital’s Hai Nazzal neighbourhood, a CDD spokesperson said in a separate statement.

A juvenile, who was reportedly with the deceased man, was arrested, the spokesperson said, adding that investigations indicted that the minor was the suspected shooter.  

On the third day of Eid, CDD teams in the south dealt with a two-vehicle collision, which resulted in the death of four persons and the  injury of five. The team administrated first aid to the injured and took them to Prince Zeid Bin Hussein Military Hospital.

The injured are listed in moderate condition, said the CDD media department, adding that an investigation is under way.

Also on the same day, the Ruseifa police were alerted about an incident in which a woman allegedly stabbed her husband with a sharp object. The husband is in critical condition. The wife has been arrested and an investigation is under way, according to the CDD. 

On the fourth day of Eid Al Adha, a body was found under Abdoun Bridge, according to the CDD. Security agencies and personnel from the forensic department arrived at the location and initiated an investigation.
