Child dead, six people injured in Marka fire

AMMAN — One child died and six people were injured when a fire erupted in an apartment in Amman, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said Tuesday.

East Amman CDD personnel extinguished the blaze, which erupted on the second floor of a four-storey apartment in Amman’s Marka neighbourhood.

They administered first aid to the injured and took them to hospital, where they were reported to be in fair condition.

CDD noted that investigation into the cause of fire is under way.
