Chairman of Islamic Development Bank visits Zarqa Public Hospital

AMMAN — Chairman of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Muhammad Al Jasser on Saturday visited the Zarqa Public Hospital.
The hospital, to which the IsDB has made contributions of $57.9 million, serves more than two million people living in Zarqa Governorate and its surrounding areas, receiving some 1,000 outpatients per day, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jasser was briefed on the healthcare services provided to the citizens, residents and refugees by the 500-bed hospital, which has a staff strength of 1,266.
Touring the hospital’s wards, Jasser commended the provision of effective healthcare that helped in reducing premature infant mortality rates by more than 80 per cent, reducing maternal mortality, and enhancing access to quality healthcare services, Petra added.
