Cassation Court president receives copy of 2019 human rights report

AMMAN — President of the Court of Cassation and President of the Judicial Council Mohammad Ghazo on Wednesday received a copy of the 2019 annual human rights report.

Ghazo, who received the report from National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Irhail Gharaibeh, stressed the council’s support to the centre, noting that the Judicial Council is interested in the report that reflects the Kingdom’s efforts in the human rights field.

Gharaibeh said that “the independent judiciary is one of the most important pillars of a state of institutions and a major strength, for its part in maintaining and preserving human rights and freedoms”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
