CARE celebrates 70 years of humanitarian work in Jordan

AMMAN — CARE International on Tuesday celebrated the 70th anniversary of its work in Jordan under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Speaking at the event, held under the title "Towards Achieving Sustainable Development", Princess Basma commended CARE's efforts in responding to the humanitarian, developmental and human rights needs of the targeted communities, stressing on the importance of CARE's cooperation with other national institutions and civil society organisations.
"Over the past seven decades, CARE has contributed to improving the lives of millions, guaranteeing their rights to receive the tools necessary to improve their living conditions," said Salam Kanaan, CARE's country director, noting that the organisation is scheduled to launch new projects in the Kingdom and expand its geographical outreach. The celebration was attended by Minister of Social Development Hala Lattouf.
