AMMAN — The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) on Tuesday denied the validity of circulated information concerning the closure of the Jordanian airspace.
In a statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, CARC Chief Commissioner Captain Haitham Misto confirmed that the Kingdom's airspace was not closed at all, with non-stop international aviation transit functioning as usual.
The suspension of take-off and landing took place at Queen Alia International Airport for a period of 40 minutes only; for the purpose of preserving the safety and security of civil aviation, he stressed.
