‘Canonisation of Palestinian nuns a source of hope for believers’

AMMAN — The canonisation of two Palestinian nuns by Pope Francis on Sunday is a challenge and hope for believers, Latin Patriarch of the Holy Land and Jordan Fouad Twal said Monday.

In a statement issued by the Catholic Centre for Studies and Media (CCSM), Twal said the canonisation of Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas and Mariam Bawardi make them an example to be followed in charity and helping others, especially under the current difficult situation in the region.

CCSM Director Father Rifat Bader expressed his appreciation for Pope Francis’ support to Christians in the Middle East in general and in the holy land in particular.
