AMMAN — Governor General of Canada David Johnston, accompanied by his wife, is scheduled to pay a state visit to the Kingdom on October 29, as part of a regional tour.
During the several-day visit, His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to hold talks with Johnston over means to enhance Jordanian-Canadian cooperation.
Discussions will also cover the latest regional and international developments, according to a Royal Court statement issued on Thursday. The governor general is also expected to meet with senior officials.
Johnston’s visit is part of the two countries’ desire to boost bilateral relations, which are witnessing progress in various fields, especially after the Jordanian-Canadian free trade agreement went into effect in late 2012, the statement added.
