AMMAN — The Cabinet on Monday agreed to reduce the cost of daily work permits (free permits) from JD1,500 to JD700 in the agricultural sector and from JD2,000 to JD900 in the loading/unloading and construction sectors.
The new fees will only be applicable during the status-rectification period for foreign labourers, the Labour Ministry said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, noting that permit prices will revert back to JD1,500 and JD2,000, respectively, once the grace period ends.
The changes were recommended to the Cabinet by Labour Minister Nidal Bataineh, Petra reported.
