Cabinet approves Cyber Security Service Providers Licensing System, announces decisions

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, decided to approve the reasons for the Cyber Security Service Providers Licensing System draft for 2024. The decision aims to establish a legislative framework ensuring the quality of cyber security services, regulating all aspects related to cyber security service providers through supervision, oversight and auditing to safeguard the rights of service providers and recipients, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Cabinet also approved the justifications for the Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship System draft at the German-Jordanian University for the year 2024, in line with amendments to the Universities Law No. 18 of 2018, the Research and Innovation Support Fund Law No. 107 of 2018, and the establishment of the Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Deanship, as well as the principles of international projects at the universities. The Cabinet decided to retire Head of the Legislation and Opinion Bureau Qasim Abdo, upon his request, and decided to appoint Fayyad Qudah as his successor.
