Budget focuses on addressing tax evasion — Malhas

AMMAN — The Senate’s Finance and Economy Committee on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss the Kingdom’s monetary, investment and financial policies and the public debt.

The meeting, chaired by head of the panel Senator Rajai Muasher in the presence of Finance Minister Omar Malhas, was held in preparation to discuss the draft law of the state budget and the budgets of independent government units, once the Lower House refers it to the Senate.

Malhas said the budget focuses on addressing tax evasion and unnecessary expenditure, in addition to including procedures that would stimulate productivity and increase economic growth, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
