British ambassador highlights opportunities of London initiative

AMMAN — The London initiative will bring Jordanian investors and their foreign counterparts together, British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden said on Monday.

During a meeting with members of the Senate’s Jordanian-British Friendship Committee, Oakden highlighted the importance of the event in supporting the Kingdom’s economic growth, empowering the private sector and creating investment opportunities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The diplomat said that the conference constitutes a real opportunity to acquaint foreign investors with the available investment prospects in the Kingdom, so as to help Jordan enhance its self-reliance and achieve fair and sustainable economic growth rates.

Senator Muhammad Ghanimeh, head of the panel, said that the Kingdom enjoys “distinguished” investment opportunities thanks to its qualified human resources and entrepreneurship in the educational, health and ICT sectors, referring to Jordan being a tourist destination for many across the world.
