AMMAN — A four-year-old boy died on Wednesday night after touching an electricity pole in eastern Irbid, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday. The child was transferred to the Princess Basma Educational Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Irbid District Electricity Company Director General Ahmad Theinat said technical teams from the company escorted security personnel to the location and inspected the pole.
They found that a shop had illegally connected wires to the pole in a hazardous way, resulting in the incident, he said. The company’s administration directed its legal department to hold the violator accountable for committing a crime that resulted in a death, Theinat added.
