Awqaf Ministry launches Int’l Hashemite Competition for Koran recitation

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh, on Tuesday, attended the launch of the 30th session of the International Hashemite Male Competition to Memorise and Recite the Holy Koran during a ceremony held by the ministry at the Islamic Cultural Centre at the King Abdullah I Mosque. At the launch event, Khalayleh welcomed all those who wished to participate to do so, including individuals from various countries who have arrived to Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry concluded the women’s edition of the competition before Ramadan, in both its local and international versions, under the auspices of Her Majesty Queen Rania.
