AMMAN — The Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry announced on Saturday that the Eid Al Fitr prayer will start at 7:00 am on the first day of Eid, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Eid Al Fitr is the Muslim feast marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. This year, Eid starts on Friday or Saturday based on the sighting of the crescent moon, signifying the new Hijri month of Shawwal. The ministry said that the main Eid prayer will be held at Sports City near Gate 3, and invited the public to visit its website to find other prayer locations.
