Awqaf minister urges Imams to conduct ‘prayers for the absent’ for Gaza, Palestine martyrs

AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh on Thursday called on all imams to perform the “prayers for the absent” after the Friday prayer, to pray for the innocent martyrs who lost their lives in the Gaza Strip and occupied Palestine. The call came via a circular that was issued by Khalaileh, and was distributed to all Awqaf directors across the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The special communal funeral prayers were originally performed by Muslims for those who die in foreign lands and do not receive a proper burial.
