AMMAN – The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Royal Department for Environmental Protection on Tuesday seized “Cytotec” pills smuggled from a neighbouring country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hidden in a guide book cover, 208 tablets were confiscated and the suspect was referred to the concerned authorities. “Cycotec” is used to treat stomach ulcers but it can be used for illegal abortion, which prompted authorities to ban the drug in Jordan, Petra quoted JFDA Director General Hayel Obeidat as saying.
