AMMAN — Criminal Court Attorney General Hani Suheiba on Thursday issued a gag order restricting the publication of any comment on the prosecutor’s decision on the Abdoun incident, in which Majed S. was shot dead. The ban includes all comments, either supporting or opposing the decision, in the press and social media outlets, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A homeowner who reportedly shot dead Majed S., who allegedly broke into his house on Tuesday night, was released on Wednesday. Sources said the alleged shooter was released because his act was deemed to have had the “legitimate” purpose of defending his home and his family members, who were asleep. The alleged intruder was armed and had a criminal record, according to security sources.
