AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle 900,000 narcotic pills outside the country, the Public Security Department (PSD) said Sunday.
The pills were hidden in plastic pipes.
Department cadres had received a tip that a group was planning to smuggle the drugs to a neighbouring country and managed to arrest one of the suspects, who confessed to planning the operation with the help of others and provided information on the location of the drugs, according to the PSD.
Three of the suspected perpetrators were also arrested, and search is under way for other suspects.
