AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), in coordination with the Jordan Customs Department and security forces, on Wednesday thwarted an attempt to smuggle two million narcotic pills through a border crossing, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said that AND personnel followed up with intel they received about a group of people attempting to smuggle large quantities of narcotics.
A suspected vehicle, loaded with wood-burning stoves, was seized as soon as it attempted to enter the Kingdom, he said, adding that it contained two million narcotic pills, which were hidden in secret caches inside the stoves.
