ASEZA rolls out plan to stimulate tourism

AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Tuesday launched an integrated tourism plan to stimulate domestic and foreign tourism.

The move coincides with the government’s plan to lift all forms of partial and total lockdowns, starting Wednesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The plan involves price reductions and holding the Aqaba carnival, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Chairman of the ASEZA’s Board of Commissioners Nayef Bakheet said that the tourism plan includes activities that attract tourists to Aqaba and Wadi Rum. 

He noted that some events have already started.

He added that the main event will take place on September 16, pointing out that the price reductions will include tourist destinations such as hotels. 

Bakheet added that the season discounts will be according to an agenda in Aqaba and Wadi Rum with special offers that suit all people wishing to visit Aqaba and its tourist and archaeological attractions.

The main events will be launched with the participation of stakeholders in tourist and commercial establishments while adhering to health measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID.
