ASEZA reopens Wadi Arab border crossing

AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) reopened the Wadi Araba border crossing on Sunday for tourists and passengers coming to the Kingdom, within the approved health restrictions.

President of ASEZA Nayef Bakhit, in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the border crossing will return to normal operations and passengers are welcome between 8am and 3:30pm, except for Fridays and Saturdays.

He added that fully vaccinated travellers and those who have proof that 21 days have passed since the first vaccine dose are allowed to get through the border crossing, otherwise they need to undergo a rapid coronavirus PCR test upon arrival. Occupancy rates at Aqaba hotels during this week reached 75 per cent, due to the authority’s steps to ease the restrictive measures, the statement said.
