AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone, in coordination with the concerned agencies, during the past 48 hours foiled an attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics from Syria into the Kingdom, a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said on Saturday.
The source said that the army personnel applied the rules of engagement, which led to the retreat of smugglers into Syrian territories, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Upon searching the area, the personnel found 746,000 Captagon pills, 29,529 Galica pills and 46,166 other narcotic pills that were all referred to the concerned agencies.
The source added that JAF dealt with three smuggling and infiltration attempts that were all thwarted over the past 72 hours, stressing that the army will not tolerate any smuggling or infiltration attempt.
