Army foils infiltration attempt on northern border

AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone thwarted an infiltration attempt early Thursday along one of its border fronts within its area of responsibility, a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) announced.

According to the source, three individuals were detected attempting to cross the border illegally. Rules of engagement were applied while the suspects were apprehended and transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

In a statement, the JAF reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the Kingdom’s borders, emphasising that all available resources are being employed to prevent infiltration or smuggling attempts and to uphold the security and stability of the Kingdom.
