Army foils infiltration attempt on northern border

AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone on Friday thwarted an infiltration attempt by four individuals, who tried to illegally cross the border northward into the Kingdom.

An official source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) said that the individuals were detected attempting to cross the border illegally during the early hours of the morning on Friday.

The JAF source said that the rules of engagement were applied, resulting in the arrest of the suspects, who were subsequently referred to the relevant authorities.

The source reaffirmed that JAF continue to act with strength and resolve to counter all forms of infiltration and smuggling, in order to safeguard the security and stability of the Kingdom.
