Army foils drug smuggling attempt using drones

AMMAN — The Southern Military Region command on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using three drones along its western frontier.

Border Guard forces, in coordination with the military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected the drones and applied the rules of engagement, bringing them down within Jordanian territory, according to the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF).

The seized narcotics were handed over to the relevant authorities for the necessary legal procedures.
