Army chief receives US military delegation on sidelines of Aqaba Process meetings

AMMAN — On the sidelines of the Aqaba Process meetings, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday met with Deputy Commander of the US Central Command Adm. James Malloy and an accompanying delegation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Huneiti discussed joint military training, the exchange of expertise and means to enhance bilateral cooperation that serve the interests of both countries’ armed forces.

Huneiti also received US Assistant Secretary of Defence for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict Katrina Mulligan and an accompanying delegation.

They discussed the latest developments and challenges in the regional and international arenas, aspects of cooperation and coordination, and ways to bolster bilateral relations. 

The Aqaba Process meetings, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah in 2015, aim to enhance security and military coordination and cooperation and increase the exchange of expertise and information, among various regional and international stakeholders, to counter terrorism using a holistic approach.
