Army chief receives Tanzanian counterpart

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday met with Chief of Defence Forces of Tanzania People's Defence Forces Gen. Venance Salvatory Mabeyo, and an accompanying delegation over the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.

Talks also covered cooperation and coordination aspects in the field of joint military training, the exchange of expertise and military exercises, and ways to enhance bilateral relations to serve the interests of both countries' armed forces, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Huneiti and the Tanzanian delegates listened to military briefings on the extent of development and modernisation of weapons, tasks and equipment in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army in line with the nature of the region's developments at various levels.

The Tanzanian delegation also visited the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre, as well as the command headquarters of King Abdullah II Special Forces Group and the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
