Army chief meets Tanzania PM, US commander on sidelines of Aqaba Process meetings

AMMAN — On the sidelines of the Aqaba Process meetings, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Thursday met with Tanzania’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Huneiti discussed joint military training, the exchange of expertise and means to enhance bilateral cooperation that serve the interests of both countries’ armed forces.
Huneiti also received Commander of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Gen. Richard Clark and an accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination and ways to bolster bilateral relations.
The Aqaba Process meetings, launched by His Majesty in 2015, aim to enhance security and military coordination and cooperation and increase the exchange of expertise and information, among various regional and international stakeholders, to counter terrorism using a holistic approach.
