Army chief meets Egyptian counterpart in Cairo

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat met with Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Egypt and Minister of Defence Sedki Sobhy in Cairo on Tuesday, where they discussed issues of mutual concern to both countries’ armies. Freihat and Sobhy also went over the latest regional developments in the region and their repercussion for security and stability in the Middle East, Petra added.
Freihat also met with Egyptian minister of state for military production, Mohammad Assar, where they outlined means to enhance cooperation and coordination between both countries in the fields of military and civil industries and manufacturing technologies. Freihat praised the Egyptian army’s efforts in the war against extremism and terrorism and Cairo’s endeavours to achieve regional security and stability, Petra added.
