Army chief, French forces commander discuss military cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti received on Wednesday Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean Rear Admiral Hugues Laine at his office in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF).
The meeting, attended by senior military officers and the French defence attaché in Amman, focused on regional and international developments, as well as opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
Huneiti emphasised the importance of strengthening international cooperation to achieve global security and stability, underscoring the strategic partnership between Jordan and France, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Rear Admiral Laine expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in maintaining security and stability across the region.
