Army chief discusses cooperation with US ambassador

AMMAN — King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben on Tuesday received US Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells. The two sides discussed ongoing cooperation between the armed forces of their countries.

Also on Tuesday, Zaben inaugurated the new premises of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army’s (JAF) crisis management centre in Yajouz. He checked on the centre’s divisions and was briefed on its tasks and duties.

To improve this role, Zaben issued directives to change the centre’s name into the Department of Civil-Military Affairs and approved establishing a new civil-military operations unit in all JAF departments to execute their tasks more effectively.
