Army chief attends commanders meeting in Riyadh

AMMAN – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, who is also the King’s military adviser, arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday for “an unannounced visit”, according to a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
The source did not give any further information on the details or the purpose of visit.
However, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya satellite channel reported that chiefs of staff of some countries participating in the operations against Houthi militias in Yemen, dubbed Operation Storm of Resolve, held a meeting in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Saturday.
Jordan is part of the Saudi-led military operations which started on March 26.
According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a brief on the current military situation and the progress of military operations was presented during the meeting in addition to reviewing the goals that have been achieved so far.
"Army chiefs praised the high morale displayed by the participants in the operations from all coalition forces to execute the mission with the utmost high determination and firmness," the statement carried by SPA said.
